THE MOON IS A KITE

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

Flowers are smiles I forgot I had
The horizon's my social date for this nomad
The wind is my song for my singing to start
And the moon is a kite I fly from my heart
Doors are the choices I've made through the years
Some of them opened, some closed by my fears
Ships are the chances I took without chart
And the moon is a kite I fly from my heart
I don't know how much time is left
The clock ticks "Time to begin"
Sitting in this new cocoon
My dreams still dance on a pin
Mountains are somedays that beckon to climb
Trees are my wisdom, their growing takes time
Your love is my purpose, let us never part
And the moon is a kite I fly from my heart

LOOK FOR THE LOVE

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do
The way a drop of morning dew greets a blade of grass
The music of time and wine in the first sip from a glass
The kiss of morning breeze, the dance of willow trees
Look for the love in everything
The sound of children's laughter, the wonder in their eyes
A rush of waves to welcome you from the seaside at sunrise
The song a card'nal sings, the warmth that summer brings
Look for the love in everything, in everything
Every day life offers us
Sweet moments of embrace
Take the time to notice them
See love in every face
Some people hide a broken heart-they do not trust to give
But deep inside love emanates with ev'ry day we live
So, try to hear the song love sings us all lifelong
Look for the love in everything
Yes, everything
Some people hide a broken heart-they do not trust to give
But deep inside love emanates with every day we live
So, try to hear the song love sings us all lifelong
Look for the love, look for the love
Look for the love in everything

FOREVER AND A DAY

Music by Ann Hampton Callaway
Lyrics by Alan Bergman

How lucky can I be to have you loving me?
It truly means I have it all.
To know that you'll be there, no matter when or where,
To catch me if I stumble or fall.
I'd like to thank you, too, for all the thoughtful things you do
To make me feel as safe as one can be.
So grateful for the mem'ries made together.
And may I add each one deserves a star.
Like when we said our first hello and knew where it would go.
Just look, my love, at where we are.
As sure as suns will shine and moons will light the skies,
I'm the one who holds the prize.
I know how lucky all this is though it may sound cliché-
This is forever and a day.

LOVE AND LET LOVE

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway and Michele Brourman

No one tells the sun not to shine
Or tells a rose it's not supposed to grow
No one tells the rain to keep from falling
Or the endless river not to flow
No one tells an eagle not to soar
Or tells a baby - she's not allowed to cry
No one tells a wave not to reach for the shore
Or a rainbow not to bend across the sky
Live and let live, love and let love
Trust the hand that made exactly who we are
Ev'ry creature on this earth
The moon and ev'ry star above
They're saying love and let love
Ev'ry heart that beats- beats for a reason
Holding space for sacred life to live
Sure as there's a day, a year, a season
Every heart has something it must give
When love comes it's everything there is
It comes in every shape and face and hue
Love is why we're here and what we're after
It's the one thing that we're born to do
Live and let live, love and let love
Trust the hand that made exactly who we are
Ev'ry creature on this earth
The moon and ev'ry star above
They're saying love and let love
Each of us is reaching out
Souls touching souls
And who can say what another heart
Needs to make it whole
Live and let live, love and let love
Trust the hand that made exactly who we are
Ev'ry creature on this earth
The moon and ev'ry star above
They're saying love and let love

INFORMATION PLEASE

Based on a true story called "The Voice in the Box" by Paul Villiard, originally published in Reader's Digest in June, 1966
Music by Ann Hampton Callaway
Lyrics by Amanda McBroom

Her name was Information Please
She lived inside our old black telephone
I called her when I skinned my knees
Or felt afraid when I was left alone
I was six and she was wise
I'd call her up with tears and sighs
Her voice was cozy as my favorite sweater
Everything she said made me feel better
"Hey, hey" I'd hear her say,
"Things will all turn out okay
There's nothing that you ever have to fear
Just remember that I'm always here."
Sally was her name, she said
And there was nothing that she didn't know
She knew where Philadelphia was
What squirrels eat, why winds decide to blow
When my canary chose to die
I called her up and asked her why
My bird that sang so beautifully before
Was now just bones and feathers on the floor
"There, there" I heard her say
All we love will leave someday
Tine and change are part of everything
And there are other worlds in which to sing"
Years flew by
And so did I
To the land where adults seem to dwell
One day in Fall
I made a call
To hear her voice again and wish her well
A voice said, "Information Please"
But it was not a voice I recognized
When I asked for Sally
The voice said "I'm so sorry to tell you Sally died.
Are you her friend, the little child
Whose calls would always make her smile?
She left a note in case you'd ever need it.
Would you like for me to read it?"
"Hey, hey, my old good friend
Everything comes to an end
But love will last- that's worth remembering
And there are other worlds in which to sing
There are always other worlds in which to sing.

YOU CAN'T RUSH SPRING

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

You can't rush spring
No matter how you try
A bud knows when to bloom
A bird knows when to fly
Although your eager heart
May long to see
The blossoms on the cherry tree
The winter needs her time to say goodbye
The rose will come
The robin will appear
And someone with the song
You've waited long to hear
There'll come a morning when
The frost will end
And when your broken heart will mend
But these are wonders only time can bring
It's taken me my whole life to learn
You can't rush spring
The rose will come
The robin will appear
And someone with the song
You've waited long to hear
There'll come a morning when
The frost will end
And when your broken heart will mend
But these are wonders only time can bring
It's taken me my whole life to learn
To give each single moment its turn
I overheard a daffodil
Singing in a hush
You can't rush spring

FINDING BEAUTY

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

Finding beauty takes more than eyes, it takes the heart
I had forgotten the unwinding beauty along the way at ev'ry start
I didn't even know my spirit lost its thunder, emptied of its wonder
The song of life had words but lost its music
Once the magic's taken how do you awaken?
Joy was gone in the darkness before the dawn
Blinding beauty-the night we met you set me free
I fell in love and now I'm finding beauty
Look what your love has done to me
I'm like a child who lives in wild anticipation of each new sensation
You've turned my black and white to Technicolor
Ev'rything around me conspires to astound me
Took the leap, took the dare- beauty's ev'rywhere
Someone new is looking through my eyelashes
What to do? Ev'ry day I spend with you
I'm a phoenix rising from the ashes
One kiss from you and you broke down all my defenses,
Lit up all my senses
I was asleep until the sun rose in your eyes
And ev'ry heartbeat is now a never-part-beat
Life is one love affair-beauty's ev'rywhere
Finding beauty, finding beauty
Finding beauty, finding beauty…

REVELATION

Music by Ann Hampton Callaway
Lyrics by Robert Frost

We make ourselves a place apart
Behind light words that tease and flout,
But oh, the agitated heart
Till someone find us really out.
'Tis pity if the case require
(Or so we say) that in the end
We speak the literal to inspire
The understanding of a friend.
But so with all, from babes that play
At hide-and-seek to God afar,
So all who hide too well away
Must speak and tell us where they are.

HOLD YOU IN THIS SONG

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

Feels like the sky is falling
And the moon hangs on a thread
Every day it slips away
The life that we once led
But you and I have each other
And I love you like no other
I wanna hold you in this song
And for all the things gone wrong
Put some light in this night
You are my every reason why
There are diamonds In the tears that I cry
Let me hold you in this song
Feel my arms around you
I hope the birds keep singing
And the sun is not undone
You and I, we stay inside
Away from ev'ryone
And only time can know the secret
But when will time show the secret?
I wanna hold you in this song
And for all the things gone wrong
Put some light in this night
You are my every reason why
There are diamonds In the tears that I cry
Let me hold you in this song
Love, take us to the somewhere
We keep trying to find
Help us make it through the madness
And leave this pain behind
Oh, you are my every reason why
There are diamonds In the tears that I cry
Let me hold you in this song
Hold you in this song
Let me hold you, hold you
Hold you in this song

STEALIN' AWAY

Music by Dan Alan Levine
Lyrics by Ann Hampton Callaway

Stealin' away -there's not a place we need to be
Stealin' away- takin' some time for you and me
The road is ours underneath the stars- stealin' away
Just like the waves crashin' along the winding shore
We're got a love that keeps us comin' back for more
We can't resist all we've missed-stealin' away
We're off to have a lover's rendez-vous
Pretendin' we've got nothin' else to do
And in our little hideaway hotel no one will find us
We're gonna turn the lights down sweet and low
And take it just as slow as we can go
We're leavin' all our cares and all our worries far behind
Fin'lly you and me where we wanna be happily
On our way to heaven on the hill, gonna have the thrill of the sea
Stealin' away just like the days when we first met
Stealin' away at ev'ry chance that we could get
We'd soar in flight on the wings of night -stealin' away
And soon we'll taste the pleasures of love's unfolding treasures
I can't wait to feel your body close to mine tonight
We're off to have a lover's rendez-vous
Pretendin' we've got nothin' else to do
And in our little hideaway hotel no one will find us
We're gonna turn the lights down sweet and low
And take it just as slow as we can go
We're leavin' all our cares and all our worries far behind
Fin'lly you and me where we wanna be happily
On our way to heaven on the hill, gonna have the thrill of the sea
Fin'lly you and me where we wanna be happily
On our way to heaven on the hill, gonna have the thrill of the sea
Stealin' away

NEW EYES

Music and lyrics
By Melissa Manchester and Ann Hampton Callaway

Been missin' your face at the table
The door is open; come on in
Look at us, smiling through our river of tears
As we start all over again
Take your time, tell your story
I wanna know everything you've seen
And if you get weary reliving those memories
Isn't it good we got each other
With worries on the rise?
New eyes - you're standing here with me
We were too blind to see
We were dreamin' too small
And now, far as our eyes can see
Just imagine what our lives can be
Funny, how the last thing you notice
Is what you needed all along
And our song is singing us back
From the storm to the sun
Isn't it good we got each other
As hope is on the rise?
New eyes - you're standing here with me
We were too blind to see
We were dreamin' too small
And now, far as our eyes can see
We'll imagine what our lives can be
I see you scars and all, scars and all
I see you whole at last, whole at last
I recognize my home in you
Through new eyes, new eyes
Just imagine what our lives can be
Through new eyes, new eyes
Through new eyes, new eyes
Been missin' your face at the table

AT THE SAME TIME

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

Think of all the hearts beating in the world at the same time
Think of all the faces telling stories of our lives at the same time
Think of all the eyes looking out into this world
Try'ng to make some sense of what we see
Think of all the ways we have of seeing
Think of all the ways there are of being
Think of all the children born into this world at the same time
Feel your love surround them
Through the years they'll need to grow at the same time
Think of all the hands that will be reaching for a dream
And think of all the dreams that could come true
If the hands we're reaching with
Could come together joining me and you
But when it comes to thinking of tomorrow
We must protect our fragile destiny
In this precious life there is no time to borrow
The time has come to be a family- oh
Think of all the love that is pouring from our hearts
At the same time
Think of all the light
Our love can shine around this world at the same time
Think what we've been given
And then think what we could lose
All of life is in our trembling hands
It's time to overcome our fears
And join to build a world that loves and understands
It helps to think of all the hearts beating in the world
And hope for all the hearts beating in the world
There's a healing music in our hearts beating in this world
At the same time, at the same time
At the same time, at the same time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
At the same time, at the same time
At the same time

WHEREVER YOU ARE

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

Where are you?
Where you are you?
Wherever you are
I hope you can hear me
I never had the chance to say goodbye
We never said goodbye
Wherever you are
I hope you can feel me
I hope you can feel how much I love you
I always will
And I'm wishing you peace, peace
Peace, peace in your soul
Are there arms to carry you home?
I wish you peace, peace
Peace, peace in your soul
Wherever you are
Wherever you roam
If somehow you need me
I'll open up my heart for you to find me
Wherever you are
The pain of losing you
Will carve out a place
That's in my heart forever
That time cannot erase
Wherever you are
Wherever you are
Though I can't see your eyes
I can't see your eyes
Though I can't hear your voice
I can't hear your voice
Though I can't touch your hand
I can't touch your hand
I am with you
I am with you
Wherever you are
Where are you?

IF I WERE

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

If I were a breath, I'd fill you with peace
To hold you throughout the day
If I were a tree, I'd offer you shade
For silence to whisper its say
If I were a road, I'd curve you surprises
Of beauty to mirror your heart
And if I were the moon, I'd sing you my silver
To sew up what's broken apart
I know that your pain is thrashing inside
I know it's too soon for the turning of tide
But if I were an ocean, I'd kiss all your waves
With sunlight to diamond you through
And if I were the rain, I'd cry all your tears
And rainbow my love for you
Yes, if I were the rain, I'd cry all your tears
And rainbow my love for you

BE THE LIGHT

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

See that sun in the sky?
It's not one candle shining high
Millions of filaments make it shine
Just like yours, just like mine
Funny how something so far away
Comes close enough to say
Be the light-be what shines the way ahead
Be the light-no more hiding, let it spread
However it can happen, be it stream or be it spark
Be what only you can be to brighten up the dark
Every morning start anew
Think how to kindle all the heart of you
Love is the starting point, feel its glow
What is next? Help it grow
Funny when something so deep inside
Can no longer be denied
Be the light-be what shines the way ahead
Be the light-no more hiding, let it spread
However it can happen, be it stream or be it spark
Be what only you can be to brighten up the dark
There's a reason you are here
Keep on searching till it's clear
Once you find it, you're on your way
Are you ready to make today the day?
Be the light-be what shines the way ahead
Be the light-no more hiding, let it spread
However it can happen, be it stream or be it spark
Be what only you can be to brighten up the dark
Yes, in this dark night
Be the light!

PERFECT

Music and Lyrics
By Ann Hampton Callaway

I've seen a perfect sunrise in the morning
The birth of gold and crimson on the sea
I've walked a perfect night in early summer
With the warmest lilac breeze caressing me
And I recall a perfect night of music
My eyes were filled with tears when it was through
And when I turned to see you also crying
I knew I'd found my perfect love in you
And once my life was filled with someone
Who shared the beauty all around
We built our world with perfect moments
We lived for sight and taste and touch and sound
If I remember just the perfect moments
Perhaps my heart won't feel broken in two
For perfect moments have their perfect endings
And that's how I'll remember you
I will remember you
Do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do do
Perfect moments
